Getting To Your CCTV Training Course In Manchester-Central
Venue location
The location for CCTV training in Manchester Central is the Boatshed Exchange Quay, Quays, 22 Exchange Quay, Salford, M5 3EQ.
By Train
This venue is located to the southwest of Manchester city centre and due south of Salford. If you are arriving by train, the nearest train stations are:
Trafford Park Train Station
Stretford, Manchester M32 0AZ
Salford Crescent Train Station
Salford M6 6AH
Deansgate Train Station
Manchester M3 4LG
Depending on where you are arriving from, you’ll then need to get a tram. Manchester is served by a vast network of trams, and the closest ones to the venue, depending on where you are arriving from, are Pomona, Wharfside and Trafford Quays. All of these tram stops will get you within a short walk to the venue, no more than fifteen minutes.
Parking
Parking can be a little tricky around this busy development. We recommend pre-booking with justpark.com if you want a stress-free, organised journey. The closest parking space, which comes in at just less than £7.00 a day, is Brindley Road. If you can’t reserve a space there, then the next closest place is Stanley Road, around 0.4 miles from the venue.
Walkability
The Salford Quays area has a pretty good walkability rate of around 78/100. You can get most errands completed with an array of shops, cafes and ATMs. The Salford Quays is a beautiful place to head out for a stroll, and nearby parks include the Chimney Pot Park, Peel Park and Seymour Park.
Accommodation
Salford Quays is a pretty luxurious area, so you might want to hop on a tram to the centre of Manchester to get a budget deal. There is an Ibis located in the Salford Quays area, offering free wifi, comfy beds, 24-hour refreshments and a cooked breakfast. The Campanile is a short walk or tram ride from the venue, and you will likely get a more affordable rate than the Ibis. If you want to grab a deal on a hostel, you’ll have to head to head into Manchester city centre. But there are great deals to be had, and with so many regularly running trams, it will only take half an hour. In the centre, our top pick is the Rahman Picadilly Hostel, with super low prices and a range of facilities, with bunk beds that almost resemble capsule hotels with a little extra privacy.
Food
There are a number of cafes close to the venue, well worth a visit. Papa’s Cafe and Cusine has a wide variety of food, including all-day breakfasts, juicy burgers, pasta and snacks. Also close by are Chimney Pots Cafe, MQ Coffee and Kitchen and Adam’s Sandwich Bar. Blueberries are also a local and great little find where you can get super low prices on breakfast baps, snacks and sandwiches.
SIA CCTV Job Opportunities in Manchester-Central
Your CCTV qualification will stand you in excellent stead if you are looking for a job in Manchester. The Kersake report following the devastating attack at Manchester Arena on May 22nd 2017, pointed to many failings. One of those was the insufficient monitoring and training of CCTV operatives during the event. Manchester still mourns the loss, and hard lessons have been learned. Therefore, it’s not hard now to find a job as a CCTV operative.
There are so many opportunities in this bustling city. Several hospitals and universities require around-the-clock CCTV professionals. Both Man City and Man United always need CCTV operatives to make sure crowds are kept safe. On the outskirts of the city is Manchester International Airport, which deals with 60 million passengers annually, every day of the year, which is another significant opportunity.
Manchester is a haven for shoppers with several malls and centres, including the Arndale and Trafford centres, to name but two. And with a huge club scene, there are also opportunities if you prefer to work a nightshift as CCTV professionals are in high demand to prevent and capture evidence of drink spikers.
