Getting to your training venue in Leicester

Train
You can get to the venue by train easily. These are the three train stations closest to Leicester city centre. From here it's easy to get to the venue using local buses and by walking. 

Leicester Train Station
London Rd, Leicester LE2 0QB. 

Syston Train Station 
Leicester LE7 2JU. 

South Wigston 
Kenilworth Rd, South Wigston, Wigston LE18 4XU. 

If you arrive at Leicester train station, it's just a 6-minute walk to the venue, approximately 500 metres away. Take the stairs and turn left onto Station Street, then right onto London Street after 100 metres. Turn left onto East Street after 40 metres, and right onto London Street again after 10 metres. After 40 metres, turn left onto Granby Street for 300 metres. Turn left onto Belvoir Street, and the Mercure is on the left. 

From Syston train station, catch the number 5 bus to Leicester. Arrive at The Haymarket in Leicester after 24 stops which will take around 25 minutes. From there, walk along Belgrave Gate to the Clock Tower, then turn onto Granby Street for about 350 metres. 

From South Wigston train station, you can get the number 44 Leicester bus from Fairfield. Stay on the bus for 27 stops, around 25 minutes and get off at Charles Street Stand J. From there, the venue is just a 2-minute walk away. 

 

Parking 
There is parking available at the venue, but it's subject to charges. You might want to park close by in another car park that will get you a better deal. Some nearby car parks include: 

Dover Street Car Park
31-33 Dover St, Leicester LE1 6PW. 

NCP Leicester East Street
East St, Leicester LE1 6NB. 

Just Park Wellington Street 
Wellington St, Leicester LE1 6HP. 

 

Walkability
Granby Street has an almost perfect walk score of 99/100. This means that you can access virtually anything you could need or want on foot. From banks, ATM's, shops, cafes, hotels, public transport, hospitals, as well as the local parks Town Hall Square, Castle Gardens and Nelson Mandela Park.

 

Accommodation
You could stay at The Mercure. But if you are looking for some budget options, you can try the Travelodge Leicester around a 7-minute drive away at Vaughan Way, Leicester LE1 4NN or Campbells Guest House at 17-19 Westleigh Rd, Leicester LE3 0HH. You can check out other options and deals here. 

 

Food
You won't have a problem finding somewhere to eat at lunchtime. If you are craving good old fish and chips, head along Belvoir Street to get to Welford Chippy. McDonald's is also close to the venue. If you are after an English breakfast, then why not try The Sandwich Stop Cafe within 250 metres of the venue. If coffee is your thing, then try The Leicester Coffee House Company just along Granby Street.

For those with a sweet tooth, you must take the time to check out Bru Coffee And Gelato. They serve a fantastic range of drinks, including tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and milkshake. But don't miss out on their decadent desserts, including freshly baked waffles, cookie dough, dessert classics such as apple pie and custard. They also serve some savoury delights along with their luxurious handmade gelato, including homemade soups, wraps, paninis, and grilled cheese sandwiches.
