The SIA Door Supervisor course runs over 6 days and is divided into 4 units: Working in the Private Security Industry, Working as a Door Supervisor, Conflict Management and Physical Intervention. On the final day of the course there will be 4 multiple choice exams and a practical assessment of the physical intervention skills you will be taught on the course.

Plymouth Train Station is only a 16-minute and a 2 km walk from the training venue. You can choose to take a bus, taxi or walk to the training venue from the train station. If you decide to take the bus from Plymouth Train Station, walk for a minute or two to Plymouth Bus Station and take bus number 12, 36, or 70A. Get off at Plymouth City Centre, Derry's Cross North and walk for about seven minutes to the training venue. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the train station for only a 2-minute ride costing £5 - £7. 

If you are arriving from Dockyard Train Station, walk for about seven minutes to Devonport, Albert Gate Bus Stop and catch line 21 bus. After 11 stops, get off at Plymouth City Centre, Connexions. From there, go on foot for a distance of 700 metres, about an 8-minute walk to the training venue.

From Devonport Train Station, walk for about 800 metres to Devonport, City College Plymouth Bus Stop. If you are riding bus number 36 from the bus stop, get off at Plymouth City Centre, Derry's Cross South and walk for about six minutes to the training venue in Armada Way.

 

Parking
You won't have to worry about parking space at Crowne Plaza Plymouth as the hotel offers a car park for £10 per day. There are several car parks near the training venue including Theatre Royal Car Park and Exchange Street Car Park. Going to the city centre is also made easy and convenient with numerous car parks in the area like Mayflower Street East Car Park.

You can stay at Crowne Plaza Plymouth for the duration of your training course. The location of the hotel is just a 3-minute walk to the seafront Hoe park and less than a mile from Plymouth Station. Since the training venue is in the city centre, a lot of restaurants are within easy reach. From cafes to bars and restaurants, you won't have a difficult time looking for a place to eat. Try the famous ice cream parlour, Karl’s Ice Cream Kiosk. They have a great selection of ice cream flavours. Plus, they serve amazing hot coffee, perfect for starting your day. For lunch or dinner, head over to Harbourside Fish and Chips for some classic British fish and chips, or burgers and pies.

 

SIA Job Opportunities in Plymouth 
There are possible work opportunities on the pier of The Hoe, may it be from restaurants to bars and clubs. In the city centre of Plymouth, you'll find shopping centres needing security staff. Moreover, healthcare facilities such as Mount Gould Hospital and institutions like the University of Plymouth also require security staff.
