What happened in 2010-11:
During this period, we encountered an incident that we deeply regret. One of our training providers failed to meet the required tutor-to-learner ratio for the Physical Intervention (PI) component of security training, as set by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) in the UK.
What did we do about it?:
As soon as we became aware of this breach, we took immediate action. We fully cooperated with the SIA’s investigation, providing them with all necessary information. We also discontinued our partnership with the provider involved, recognising the seriousness of the situation. Our primary focus was to rectify the issue and support the affected learners.
What did we change?:
In response to this incident, we implemented substantial changes to our processes and procedures. We understood the need for stringent measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Strengthening our vetting processes for providers became a top priority, ensuring they meet strict criteria and comply with all regulatory guidelines. We also introduced ongoing monitoring to assess the performance and compliance of our partners, safeguarding the integrity of their training delivery.
