Highly recommended

“Highly recommended. I did the DS and CCTV courses within two weeks of each other. Both the tutors were engaging and very experienced and knowledgeable in their field. Despite both courses being relatively short, I feel they pack in a lot of material. There are also lots of practical activities that help prepare you for front line security work. Once again, I high recommend training with Get Licensed!”

“I have been working in security for 30 years starting with 10 years as a full time door supervisor and then 20 years in house NHS security officer in a busy city centre hospital with a war zone called A&E Since leaving I needed to get my SIA . This course is really good and it’s far from an attend course you need to apply yourself and it will give you the grounding to be a first class operative to start a career and progress in security. Great trainer in Dave Watts a first class instructor and man. This course is first class and Get Licensed make booking, learning a great experience”

Get Licensed is the best

“Get Licensed is indeed, the best place to take your security training. I just completed my Door Supervisor Training with them and was trained by Rob Worthington. Rob is the best trainer I have ever seen. You know why, its because he really trains from experience. He treated everyone fairly and makes the training very interesting, practical and experiential. I sincerely entreat everyone that seeks to take any security training course to do that with Get Licensed. You would enjoy it and learn a lot.”

Clear and Concise

“The trainer Amy was really patient, helpful and informative. All lessons were delivered with clarity along with a very professional attitude. Sering was also excellent. He conveyed information in a friendly helpful manner and made the class feel at ease. Good staff are hard to find and both are assets to the Industry.”

Have a question? We have answers

An SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence is a mandatory certification for individuals seeking to work in specific security roles within the UK. Holding this licence ensures you meet the necessary standards of training and professionalism required by law.

To get SIA training, you need to book and complete an SIA-approved training course that matches your desired security role. Get Licensed offers training across the UK, making it easy to find a course near you. After passing the SIA badge course and the required exams, you can apply for your SIA licence.

The duration of SIA training depends on the type of course. The Door Supervisor training takes 6 days, the Security Guard training takes 4 days, the CCTV Operator training takes 3 days, and the Close Protection training takes 16-19 days to complete. Courses include both classroom-based learning and assessments.

The cost of SIA training varies depending on your choice of course and training centre location. Prices typically range from £190 to £300 for most security courses, while Close Protection training is more expensive due to its advanced requirements. You can find exact prices by using our Course Finder and selecting your desired course.

Once you've successfully completed your training and received your certification, you can apply for your licence directly through the SIA website. The application involves identity verification and a criminal record check. Comprehensive guidance is available on our SIA Licence Application Process page.

SIA-endorsed training qualifications are officially approved courses that meet the Security Industry Authority (SIA) standards. These qualifications are delivered by accredited training providers and are required to apply for an SIA Licence.

The fee for obtaining an SIA licence is £184. This cost is not included in your SIA training and needs to be paid separately when submitting the application

An SIA Licence is valid for 3 years. After that, you need to renew it by ensuring your training is up to date and applying through the SIA website. You can enrol in our Top-Up Refresher training courses for this step.

Yes! A Door Supervisor Licence allows you to work as both a Security Guard and a Door Supervisor. However, a Security Guard Licence does not permit you to work as a Door Supervisor.

Get Licensed offers SIA training in multiple locations across the UK, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, and more. Simply enter your location on the website to find SIA courses near you.
