The course is suitable for people who work with babies and young children. It is aimed at newly qualified level 2 or 3 childcare workers who are required to hold either this emergency paediatric first aid 1-day course or the paediatric first aid 2-day course, so it's also suitable for nannies, nursery workers and au pairs. It's also an invaluable course for teachers and new parents who want to feel more confident looking after their children.
And, if you work in a security role for a family and drive children to school or nursery, your employer may also look favourably at applicants with this added qualification.
The course meets the Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register standards, and upon successful completion of the course, your certificate will be sent to you electronically. If you are using the course for work, you will need to update your certificate after three years by taking a refresher course.
The course is held at the training centre located at:
4 The Parade,
Monarch Way,

Paediatric First Aid training concentrates solely on the child and infant age groups. This is useful to full time childcare workers such as childminders, nannies and nursery staff. Standard paediatric courses will cover how to manage an ill or injured child / infant in the event of an emergency.
If your profession requires you to care or supervise children then you should consider the Paediatric First Aid Level 3 course. As a responsible adult, you need to deal with emergency situations right away in order to prevent exacerbating the problem. In some cases, you might even be able to save lives.
Paediatric First Aid training concentrates solely on the child and infant age groups.
On successful completion of this course, you will receive a paediatric first aid certificate which is valid for three years.
