SIA Top-Up Training for Security Guard Licence
Security Officers and Security Guards who are renewing their SIA Licence after 1st October 2021 need to take this course.
Top-Up Training for an SIA Licence includes new knowledge, which was introduced to recognise the new risks and challenges of modern security guard jobs.
For example, you'll learn how to effectively control crowds, the best practices for working in security post-pandemic, as well as specialist skills in recognising and proactively preventing terrorist acts.
Requirements:
✔️Action Counters Terrorism Course (ACT Course): Bring your certificate of completion for your ACT Course when you go to your SIA Top-Up Training course
✔️Complete the supplied e-learning videos
First Aid requirements for an SIA Security Guard Top-Up Training Course:
Candidates should be qualified in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW), or an equivalent qualification. If you haven't yet completed an EFAW course, don't worry. You can take it in your booked course package and get qualified that way.
Understanding which First Aid qualifications count towards your SIA Licence is very important. Your certificate must be EFAW or higher. Make sure it's also valid for over 12 months as of the start date of your Top-Up Training course.
Get a head start on your SIA Security Guard Top-Up Course with a First Aid Refresher
If you're taking an EFAW course during your SIA Top-Up Training, we have resources to help you prepare. Taking a First Aid Refresher Course before your course can boost your knowledge ahead of time, making the training day itself easier.
Our First Aid Refresher Courses are easily completed online for free. Be aware that doing so won't give you an EFAW qualification, and getting that qualification will still need to be done during your Top-Up Training. However, you'll have added skills to move forward with.
Remember, you can't renew your SIA Licence if you haven't completed your Top-Up Training.
