This course will introduce you to Health and Safety legislation, common causes of accidents at work and how to avoid them, best practice with electricity. The course will also cover COSHH regulations and best practice when controlling substances that are hazardous to health. At the end of this course, you will know how to deal with an accident, have the confidence to act in an emergency, and be able to keep your colleagues safe.
Course aim
By the end of this course the candidate will have an understanding of health and safety legislation and definitions of common terms associated with health and safety. This is followed up with some statistics outlining the most common causes of accidents in the workplace.

Recognise the key legislation and guidance associated with health and safety in the workplace

Identify the common causes of accidents within the workplace and understand both employer and employee responsibilities
